Woman dies after being found on fire outside home

When crews arrived to the home, they found the woman on fire, just outside of her home on her porch.

WHEATON-GLENMONT, Md. — Crews with the Montgomery County Fire Department are investigating what led up to crews finding a woman lit on fire outside of a home on Thursday.  

Calls came in at 5:20 p.m. for reports of a fire along the 12100 block of Livingston Street. When crews arrived they found the fire floor of the home and porch engulfed in flames. 

One person was inside the home at the time of the fire and was able to get out. However, she sustained serious injuries. 

When crews arrived at the home, they found another woman on fire, just outside of her home on her porch. Firefighters were able to put the flames out, but she did not survive. 

The identity of the woman has not been released at this time. 

The cause of the fire is still being investigated but has been ruled an accident. It took about 65 firefighters to put the flames out. 

The fire caused $250,000 worth of damages to the home.
