HYATTSVILLE, MD -- A driver was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman riding a MetroAccess vehicle, according to Metro Transit Police.
Deymon Levarne Childs, 40, of Suitland, Md. has been charged with second degree rape after the incident happened inside a MetroAccess vehicle on Monday afternoon.
While Childs was driving a MetroAccess vehicle, a woman reported to police that he sexually assaulted her while she was inside the vehicle. Childs reportedly picked up the woman as scheduled and was supposed to take her to her home. The assault happened on Monday afternoon on Brightseat Road in Hyattsville, Md.
The victim told police that the driver of the vehicle committed unwanted sexual acts in the rear of the vehicle. No one else was in the vehicle at the time of the assault.
Police say Childs is also charged with third-degree sex offense and second-degree assault.
