DAMASCUS, Md. — As smoke billowed from the garage, two furry friends were trapped inside, unaware that their luck was about to change thanks to the firefighters who rushed to their rescue just in time.
Tuesday night, crews with Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service were sent to a home on Ridge Landing in Damascus for a report of a garage fire. Once there, crews say all occupants of the home had got out safely but two dogs were still inside.
Just before 9 p.m., firefighters were able to put out the flames. Two dogs were removed from the home, still breathing, and given oxygen before being taken to an animal hospital in Rockville to be evaluated with their owner.
Members of Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service were able to get pictures of the pups. Those pictures can be seen below.
