PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. — Police say two delivery men hid in the cargo portion of their truck after spotting an armed man, who was later arrested in connection to a shooting in Prince George's County.
According to a release from the Prince George's County Police Department (PGCPD), the delivery men were working in the area of Pagnell Circle in Waldorf on Jan. 25 just before 4:15 p.m.
The men told officers they were making a delivery when one of the delivery men noticed a man standing near a car with a gun in his hand. The man reportedly yelled something at the driver, causing him to run back to the truck.
The two delivery drivers then locked themselves in the cargo portion of their truck. They told police the man began banging on the door with the gun and tried to get inside the truck. The drivers called 9-1-1 and heard the man drive away in a Nissan Sentra.
A short time later, a Charles County Sheriff's Office deputy spotted the Nissan Sentra after the suspect allegedly was involved in a shooting that is being investigated as a road rage incident.
Officers arrested the 22-year-old man, identified as Christopher Carrington Durham of Waldorf. The shooting was reported less than an hour after the incident with the delivery men.
Detectives believe Durham was driving a car and shot at another driver. The car was struck by gunfire, but no one was hurt. He has been charged with two counts of first-degree assault and second-degree assault, violation of an extreme protective order, and other related charges.
Durham is currently being held at the Prince George’s County Jail.
The 45-year-old man has been charged for his alleged involvement in two separate assaults in the D.C. area in 2022.
