Police investigate deadly hit-and-run on Suitland Parkway in Prince George's County

Police said the driver of the vehicle who hit and killed the man did not stay at the scene of the crash.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. — Police are searching for the driver who hit and killed a pedestrian on Suitland Parkway in Prince George's County on Friday evening.

The crash happened around 8:45 p.m. near the intersection of Branch Avenue and Suitland Parkway, the Prince George's County Police Department said.

When first responders arrived at the scene, they found a man unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man has not yet been identified.

Police said the driver of the vehicle who hit and killed the man did not stay at the scene of the crash.

Investigators are working to figure out what led to the crash and are working to identify the driver.
