ROCKVILLE, Md. — A deck fire broke out in Rockville early Thursday morning, leaving firefighters battling the blaze.
Crews with Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services responded to Veirs Mill Road, near Cedar Lane, at 3 a.m. after a report of a fire behind a house. A resident in the home said they could hear a crackling noise outside of their bedroom.
The fire left the deck in shambles, with the majority of it being collapsed after it was extinguished. All the people inside of the home at the time the deck fire broke out were not injured.
The cause of the fire has not been released at this time.
