SILVER SPRING, Md. — WUSA9's Leslie Moreno spent her Friday morning in Montgomery County, talking to students for career day.
A New Hampshire Estates Elementary School kindergarten class hosted Moreno, where she talked about the importance of local journalism. Of course, she also talked about what a typical day as a TV reporter looks like.
The students learned about her role as a reporter and they even got the chance to practice being on TV.
The visit was part of the elementary school’s effort to teach kids about their endless possibilities and career options when they grow up.
Teacher Rachel Phillips said New Hampshire Estates has a large Hispanic population, and that it's important for her students to hear and learn from someone who looks like them.
