Car chase in Prince George's County results in crash

The pursuit ended nearby the Commanders stadium when the vehicle crashed.

GREATER LANDOVER, Md. — A police chase with a wanted vehicle in Greater Landover ended with a crash Wednesday evening.

Officers with the Prince George's County Police Department came across a wanted vehicle around 6:35 p.m. on Central Avenue and I-495. This is when the pursuit began after the car did not stop for police.

The driver of the vehicle fled the area, but ultimately crashed into another vehicle at the intersection of Brightseat Road and Sean Taylor Road, not far from the Commanders stadium.

Police say one person is in custody due to the chase. Police later confirmed the driver was Stefon Janey, who was wanted for a string of ATM robberies using the jaws of life in Prince George's County

The Prince George's County Fire and EMS also responded to the scene of the crash, but no one was reported to be injured.
