Boy hurt in Metrobus stabbing in Maryland

Officers with the police department are working to locate the person responsible for the crime.

BELTSVILLE, Md. — A boy was wounded in a stabbing on a Metrobus Thursday morning in Prince George's County, sparking an investigation into what happened.

Officers with the Metro Transit Police Department responded to the area of Rhode Island Avenue and Sellman Road, in Beltsville, around 8:20 a.m. after receiving a report of a stabbing on a bus.

Through an initial investigation, it was determined that it happened onboard an 86 Metrobus after the victim and the person responsible for the stabbing were fighting. No information was released about if the fighting was verbal or physical before the stabbing.

Afterward, both of them got off the bus. The victim was taken to a local hospital to be treated for his wounds. His injuries are not considered to be serious, and he is expected to recover, according to police.

No further information has been released about the victim nor a suspect description.
