MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. — Are you looking to adopt a pet? Now may be the perfect time.
In honor of its 10-year anniversary, the Montgomery County Animal Services and Adoption Center (MCASAC) in Derwood will reduce adoption fees to $10 for new pet owners until March 10.
“Reflecting over the last 10 years, I am incredibly proud of how far we have come,” said Spencer Kelly, the shelter operations manager. “Thanks to the support of staff, volunteers, fosters, partners and the entire community we have made tremendous strides to better the lives of animals."
No appointment is required, and adoptions are same day. Potential owners should bring a leash and collar for dogs or a carrier for cats and small animals.
Adoptable animals can be viewed here. MCASAC is open seven days a week, and specific hours can be found on the website.
