A drive for school supplies for families in need is being held in Montgomery County

From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Montgomery County students, staff members and volunteers will be collecting new or gently used school supplies at Argyle Middle School.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. — A 'Drive for Supplies' is being help a middle school in Montgomery County, Maryland Monday morning until the early afternoon for those families in need. 

From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Montgomery County students, staff members and volunteers will be collecting new or gently used school supplies at Argyle Middle School. 

Donated items include:

  • Binders
  • Markers 
  • Pencils 
  • Pens
  • Colored Pencils 
  • Erasers 
  • Scissors 
  • Paper
  • Dividers 
  • Composition/Spiral Notebooks
  • Folders 
  • Rulers
  • Glue 
  • Lunch Boxes
  • Crayons 
  • Pencil Cases

This the 20th year for the drive. The event is held each summer. Drive for Supplies has generated more than 95 tons of school supplies since the program began. Last year, the county distributed 8,805 pounds of school supplies.

The program is a collaboration between Learn Shop, Inc., and MCPS.
