67-year-old shot, killed in his Columbia home

Detectives do not believe the shooting was a random act.

COLUMBIA, Md. — A 67-year-old man was shot multiple times and killed inside of his home in Howard County Thursday night, sparking a homicide investigation into what happened.

Officers with the Howard County Police Department responded to a home on Half Dollar Court, Vollmerhausen Road, in Columbia after receiving a call from a family member of the man at 10:48 p.m. after for medical help. Upon arrival, they found the man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds inside the home.

He was pronounced dead at the location. Police say he has been identified as Perry Anthony Comeau.

Through an initial investigation, detectives do not believe the shooting was a random act. The investigation is active and ongoing.
