PASADENA, Md. (WUSA9) -- Three police officers and another person were injured after a crash involving a police vehicle and another vehicle in Pasadena Wednesday morning, police said.

The accident happened Wednesday at 9:25 a.m. on Edwin Raynor Blvd at Pekin Rd in Pasadena, Md., authorities said.

Investigation shows that the unmarked police vehicle, a 2007 Chevy Impala was going northbound on Edwin Raynor Blvd Road with its lights and siren turned on responding to an armed subject call, authorities said.

The other vehicle, a 2001 Honda Odyssey pulled out from the stop sign at the cross street, Pekin Rd. into the path of the police vehicle. The police vehicle was able to swerve and avoid direct impact, however still hit the front corner of the Honda, according to police.

Three officers were inside of the police vehicle. All of them were taken to the Shock Trauma Center at University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore, with serious, but non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the other car was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, police said.

The officers have been identified as: Officer Andrew Rohe, Cpl. Mark Collier, and Cpl. Andrew Burger. The driver involved in the accident has been identified as Donna Kelbe, 76, of Pasadena.

The accident happened because the Honda failed to yield the right away both to an emergency vehicle and traffic on the boulevard, police said.
