DAVIDSONVILLE, Md. (WUSA9) -- Two people are dead after a head-on crash in Anne Arundel County on Monday evening.
The accident occurred at Central Avenue West near Beards Point Road in Davidsonville, officials said. Officials were called to the scene around 8:42 p.m., Anne Arundel County fire officials said.
A black Audi operated by a 22-year-old was driving westbound on Central Avenue when it crossed the centerline and struck a Toyota Yaris operated by a 60-year-old head on, Anne Arundel County Police said.
The 60-year-old driver was declared dead on the scene, officials said. The 22-year-old driver was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead, officials said.
The cause of the crash seems to be the Audi's failure to remain right of center, alcohol also appears to have contributed, police said.
