Multi-car crash in Maryland leaves 10 people hospitalized

MARYLAND, USA — Ten people were hospitalized after a multi-car crash on Route 29 south in Howard County Sunday afternoon, officials say. 

At around 3 p.m., a car was entering Route 29 south from the Route 108 ramp in Columbia when it lost control and struck two other vehicles, the Howard County Police Department post on X, formerly known as Twitter. 

One person is in critical but stable condition, and the others have non-life-threatening or minor injuries, police posted. 

Route 29 south closed after the crash and reopened around 6:30 p.m. on Sunday.
