SILVER SPRING, Md. — If you bought a Mega Millions ticket in Montgomery County for the June 4 drawing, you might want to check your numbers. A big winner was sold in the county.
Maryland Lottery officials say Maryland's first Mega Millions millionaire of the year got their ticket at Aspen Hills Citgo, located on Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring. The retailer will also earn a bonus of $2,500 for the lucky sale.
There were also $10,000 winning tickets sold at Talbert’s Ice & Beverage Service on River Road in Bethesda and 7-Eleven at 106 North Division Street in Ocean City.
One player in Illinois won the jackpot of $560 million, but Maryland had multiple winners celebrating their small to big wins. A total of 23,694 Maryland players scored prizes ranging from $2 to Silver Spring's $1 million win in the drawing.
The lucky numbers to match are 19, 37, 40, 63 and 69; the Mega Ball was 17.
Winners are encouraged to sign the backs of their tickets. They have 182 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes.
