COLUMBIA, Md. (WUSA9) -- A driver for a delivery company contracted by Subway restaurants has been arrested and charged for seven burglaries at local Subway restaurants, police said.
Demond Herschell Woodson, 39, has been charged with 'multiple counts of burglary, theft, and malicious destruction of property,' police said. He has been charged with nine counts of burglary and nine counts of grand larceny, in addition to charges in the other jurisdictions, police said.
Woodson is responsible for burglaries which happened starting in December 2013 at the Subway restaurant locates listed below:
- Dec. 6, 2:42 a.m., 7106 Minstrel Way, Columbia
- Dec. 11, 1:35 a.m., 9275 Baltimore National Pike, Ellicott City
- Jan. 27, 4 a.m., 6790 Business Parkway, Elkridge,
- Feb. 16, 1:02 a.m., 8765 Centre Park Drive, Suite12A, Columbia
- April 25, 2:06 a.m., 8305 Ice Crystal Dive., Laurel,
- April 25, 2:35 a.m., 7500 Montpelier Road, Laurel,
- May 1, 4:33 a.m., 6010 University Blvd., Suite 109, Columbia
Woodson would force entry by breaking out the front glass door with a small tool during the burglaries. He then stole money from registers or in some cases stealing the entire cash drawers, police said.
Woodson was arrested on Monday, May 5, around 1:00 a.m. at a Subway restaurant located on Georgia Avenue in Montgomery County, police said.
Woodson is being held at the Howard County Detention Center on $150,000 bond, police said.
