The 2018 Build Your Brand(BYOB) retreat is expected to draw more than a thousand innovators, brand experts, aspiring entrepreneurs and others to D.C., Memorial Day weekend. Yvonne Orji of HBO's hit series "Insecure" is the keynote speaker.

If you have ever dreamed of starting your own business or need help building your brand, then a retreat coming to town Memorial Day Weekend is just for you.

Prince George's County's own Andrew Nguyen, a successful brand builder, entrepreneur and founder of The O Agency: A Brand and Performance Marketing Agency, is making his mark across the country by helping aspiring entrepreneurs.

Last year, Nguyen and his team wrapped a national "Build Your Own Brand" or "BYOB" tour that offered workshops to people across major cities. Instead of traveling across the country this year, he's inviting people to the District for a two-day retreat that aims to meet the professional and personal needs of dream chasers.

It's called the "BYOB Retreat 2018," and it is expected to draw more than a thousand founders, leaders, creatives, mentors, brands, athletes and entrepreneurs to the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Northwest.

" Meeting people in real life is the best way to build brands and trust versus superficial online interactions," said Nguyen.

The goal is to help people grow their networks, get clarity on their goals, toss around ideas, and gain guidance and perspective through workshops .

The celebrity keynote speaker is Yvonne Orji, also known as Molly of HBO's hit comedy-drama series "Insecure." Writer, Producer and Actress Issa Rae co-writes and stars in the show.

Nguyen has spent years building his company with clientele that range from NBA and NFL stars to Fortune 500 companies. However, getting to this point was not easy.

At just 23, he quit his full-time job after saving thousands of dollars to fund his dream. He stresses the importance of starting a separate bank account for savings, then taking the risk.”

"I worked 20 hours a day—combined-- on my day job and dream, which was tough " Nguyen said. "But I went in with the mindset of putting in a lot of effort and having low expectations."

Nguyen was recently featured in the New York Times Best Selling Book “Crushing It” by Gary Vaynerchuck.
