MARYLAND CITY, Md. (WUSA9) -- Firefighters responded to a house fire early Wednesday morning in Maryland City.
Anne Arundel County fire officials say the fire occurred in the 3300 block of Crumpton South, near Maryland City Elementary School. The fire was reported at 5:51 a.m. We're told the fire started int he basement.
Four people escaped the fire safely and no injuries were reported, according to fire officials.
Red Cross was notified to assist three adults and one child.
