A Germantown woman who sent police on a car chase last September will serve three years behind bars, and the couple whose home she crashed into will still have a story for the ages.

A judge sentenced Lalona Davis on Wednesday for a number of charges including resisting arrest and possession of a controlled substance for Phencyclidine, or PCP.

In September 2015, an officer with Montgomery County Police Department attempted to stop Davis as she drove along Crystal Rock Road.

Davis didn't stop.

Numerous patrol cars ended up chasing her red Chevy Cavalier, until she came to the yard of an unsuspecting retired couple.

"We were asleep, and there's lots of noise," Kevin Connolly said. "I come running down and go out and the police officers like, 'Sir, sir, you didn't do anything wrong, we got this under control.'"

"The first thing the officer said was, ‘Sir you didn't do anything wrong.’ It's like why are you all here?"

Connolly and his wife Cindy have lived in their home for nearly 20 years, and this was the first time they'd seen police in their yard.

"Our hearts were racing," Cindy said. "It was terrifying."

When police finally stopped the car and had Davis in custody, they searched her car. Officers said they smelt a strong odor of PCP and found an "uncapped glass bottle" on the floorboard, with clear liquid split all around it - liquid that turned out to be PCP.
