FREDERICK, Md. — Route 85 between Greenfield Road and Oland Road in Frederick County is shut down on both sides due to a vehicle crash. Utility poles are down across the highway.
The estimated time before it opens again is three to four hours, as of around noon on Saturday.
There is no word on injuries at this time.
"With the current wind conditions we are seeing a lot of drifting and ice on our Frederick County roads. We are responding to a good deal of vehicle crashes this morning," the Frederick County Sheriff's Office posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.
"As a reminder, use caution, reduce your speed, put your cell phones down, and leave in plenty of time to get to your destination."
