ROCKVILLE, Md. (WUSA9) -- Flora Singer Elementary School is closed Wednesday due to flooding in the building, announced Montgomery County Public Schools officials.
The school is located in the 800 block of Hungerford Drive in Rockville. It opened in 2012.
It appears that a coupler connected to a water pipe gave away and caused the flooding, according to Montgomery County schools spokesperson Dana Tofig. There is standing water in some parts of the building, but officials hope to get the water cleaned up so that school can reopen on Thursday.
