Prince George's County Fire & EMS responded to 4 story senior living facility in the 6800 block of Bock Road in Fort Washington, Md.

WUSA9 crews at the scene spoke to one woman who lives in the complex. She said she heard a loud bang just before the fire started.

"It was frightening," she said. "My girlfriend and I, we [began] knocking on doors," said complex resident Barbara Igbokwe.

According to Benjamin Barksdale, fire chief of the Prince George's Fire Department and EMS, most of the fire was in the attic.

"If it had been down in the living spaces, we probably would have had our work cut out for us," he said.

Approximately 75 residents had to evacuate, officials said, and no one was hurt.
