Police: Taxi carjacking suspect arrested

Thirty-one-year-old Cuther Lee Watts of Bladensburg, Maryland was arrested after Fairfax police say he stole money from a taxi driver, forced him out of his cab, and drove off with the car in June.
Cuther Lee Watts has been arrested in connection to a carjacking case in Fairfax. 

A suspect in a taxi carjacking case was arrested Wednesday afternoon, police say.

Thirty-one-year-old Cuther Lee Watts of Bladensburg, Maryland was arrested after Fairfax police say he stole money from a taxi driver, forced him out of his cab, and drove off with the car in June.

The taxi driver had been sitting in his car on Manchester Boulevard around 3:30 a.m. on June 14 when Watts opened his car door and implied that he had a gun, police say. The victim handed over an undisclosed amount of money before being yanked from his 2015 Toyota Highlander. Watts then left with the car. The victim was uninjured in the incident.

Watts is currently being held without bond at the Adult Detention Center in Fairfax.
