SILVER SPRING, Md. — Students at St. Andrew Apostle School in Silver Spring got special visitors Friday.
It was a big day at school as fire trucks, police cruisers, and even a horse trailer lined the campus for the much-anticipated Truck-A-Palooza event.
What is Truck-A-Palooza? Think of it as the coolest field trip ever—without leaving school grounds. This annual event invites professionals from across the region to bring their work vehicles to the school, giving students a hands-on look at different careers.
WUSA9's Miri Marshall rolled in with Eco9, teaching students all about weather forecasting. But the fun didn’t stop there!
- Pepco brought the power (literally) with a bucket truck.
- Amazon delivered the excitement with one of their vans.
- The U.S. Postal Service kept things on track with a mail delivery truck.
- Montgomery County Police showed off a high-tech drone and a shiny police cruiser.
- Maryland-National Capital Park Police went old-school with a horse and trailer combo that wowed the crowd.
And just when you thought things couldn’t get cooler—it snowed! While the flakes melted as soon as they touched the ground, the magical moment had kids grinning from ear to ear.
From the flashing lights to the chance to see career professionals up close, students were buzzing with excitement. Truck-A-Palooza wasn’t just an event; it was an adventure—and maybe even the start of some future career dreams.
