Report of suspicious package leads police to dead body in Northeast DC

WASHINGTON — DC Police are investigating after a woman was found dead while officers were looking into reports of a "suspicious package." 

According to police, officers were called to the 1500 block of 45th Street in Northeast shortly before 10 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 5 for reports of a suspicious package and a "woman down." 

When investigators arrived, they found the woman's body, which was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to help identify the woman and figure out how she died.

This week, police identified the woman as 24-year-old Nicole Ann Young, of no known address. Her cause of death remains under investigation.
