WASHINGTON — Police are investigating after a woman was assaulted and hit by a car in Northwest D.C. Saturday.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, homicide detectives are working to find who killed 30-year-old Anee Roberson, of Northwest D.C.

Investigators say Roberson was assaulted and then hit by a car in front of the 900 block of U Street. She was then taken to an area hospital where she later died.

The car that hit Roberson stayed and was not involved in the initial assault, which police say caused Roberson to end up in the roadway.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy and ruled the cause of death to be multiple blunt force injuries and the manner of death a homicide.

Now, detectives are working to identify the person who assaulted Roberson, causing her death.

Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives at (202) 727-9099 or text the department's tip line at 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for each homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
