WASHINGTON — The Washington Spirit will play all home games at Audi Field in 2023.
The announcement came Tuesday naming D.C.'s Navy Yard as the exclusive home of the Spirit after a multiyear agreement was reached with D.C. United.
“The opportunity to play all our home games at Audi Field shows the continued commitment Michele has made to making this club the best,” said President of Soccer Operations Mark Krikorian. “The state-of-the-art Audi Field will allow our athletes to perform at the highest level and produce the best results possible. It is one of the best professional soccer stadiums in the country and it is where our club belongs. We are looking to dominate in the District.”
The Washington Spirit was created in 2013 and has played matches at several venues around the DMV such as Segra Field in Leesburg and the Maryland SoccerPlex in Boyds. The team played its first match at Audie Field in August 2018.
Loudoun County will remain an important location for the Spirit, as it has been for the last three years. The team will continue to practice at the United Performance Center in Leesburg and hold special events throughout Northern Virginia.
Starting Tuesday, current Spirit season ticket members and current D.C. United season ticket holders will have the exclusive opportunity to buy 2023 season tickets, according to a release from the team. The public will have access to the season tickets on Dec. 20.
