WASHINGTON — Washington Gas is alerting customers that updates are being made to its systems that primarily deal with customer service and billing applications.
The upgrades are planned to begin at 12:01 a.m. on Thursday and go through Tuesday, May 28 at 8 a.m.
"This system upgrade aligns with our on-going investment in supporting our customers and will enhance our ability to provide a positive customer experience," Washington Gas said in an email to WUSA9.
While the upgrades aim to improve the customer experience, Washington Gas does say that during the maintenance customers may see limited access to online accounts, mobile application, online bill pay, customer center personnel and walk-in offices.
However, payments made through retail bill pay partners such as 7-Eleven, Walmart, and CVS will post to customers' accounts when the system upgrades are finished in Tuesday. Customers who have bills due on May 23 and 24 will have until May 31 to pay without dealing with late fees.
The emergency line will remain open at 844-WASHGAS (844-927-4427) for customers who would like to report any emergency requests but customers are asked not to call for account, service, or invoice questions.
