18-year-old accused of assaulting victim with knife in Northwest D.C.

The victim was taken to an area hospital and is expected to survive.

WASHINGTON — Police arrested a man Sunday who they say assaulted someone with a knife in Northwest D.C. last week.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the assault happened on March 13 just before 2 p.m. in the 1700 block of Lamont Street, Northwest.

Investigators say the suspect assaulted the victim with a knife before running away. The victim was taken to an area hospital and is expected to survive. 

Christian Martinez, 18, of Northwest, D.C. was arrested on Sunday. He has been charged with assault with intent to kill.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for a violent crime committed in the District of Columbia.
