US Park police officer injured after motorcycle crash

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- A U.S. Park police officer was injured after a motorcycle crash in Washington D.C. Monday evening.

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- A U.S. Park police officer was injured after a motorcycle crash in Washington D.C. Monday evening.

According to a U.S Park police spokesperson, the officer was on their way home when they rear-ended a Jeep on the 14th Street bridge and was thrown over the bike's handlebars.

The officer was airlifted to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, the spokesperson said. 

The accident happened on the 14th Street Bridge before I-395. All lanes on the bridge have reopened.
