WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Two D.C. police officers lied about their address so they could enroll their children in the D.C. Public School System, according to a lawsuit filed by the D.C. Attorney General.
The suit claims Lieutenant Alan Hill and Sergeant Candace Hill used a false address so their three children could attend schools near the second district police station in Cleveland Park where they worked without paying tuition.
According to the complaint, the fraudulent enrollment happened between 2003 and 2013. During the time, the Hills lived at various locations in Maryland and Virginia.
The D.C. address the couple used was a rental property owned by Alan Hill, the suit claims.
The lawsuit seeks to recover more than $224,000 in unpaid non-resident tuition, plus penalties.
