WASHINGTON — The year is wrapping up, and the DC Public Library has released the top page turners for 2023.
This year, more than seven million items were borrowed, streamed or downloaded through the District's public library system, with graphic novels and memoirs topping readers' lists. Washingtonians found themselves frequently picking up Dav Pilkey's “Dog Man” and “Cat Kid Comic Club," which occupied eight of the top 10 fiction spots.
Many adults also favored Prince Harry's “Spare” and Jennette McCurdy's “I'm Glad My Mom Died."
