Suspect wanted in assault of Metro police officer

The Metro Transit Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying a person who may be involved in the assault of a Metro police officer.

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- The Metro Transit Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying a person who may be involved in the assault of a Metro police officer.

The assault took place at the Largo Town Center Station Monday around 3:15 p.m., officials said.

Anyone who is able to identify the individual pictured below is asked to call Metro Transit Police Detectives at (202) 962-2121 and reference case #2015-37961. Tips also can be sent via text message to "MyMTPD" (696873).
