31-year-old killed in Southeast DC shooting

Around 11:15 p.m. on Friday, officers responded to the 3000 block of Stanton Road, Southeast for the sounds of gunshots.

WASHINGTON — DC Police are investigating after a man was shot to death in Southeast late Friday night.

Around 11:15 p.m., officers responded to the 3000 block of Stanton Road, Southeast for the sounds of gunshots.

When they arrived, officers found evidence of a shooting but no victim. Shortly thereafter, officers were told that a rideshare driver had brought a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the First District station. 

He died at the scene.

He has been identified as 31-year-old Tejuan Coleman, of Southeast, D.C.

No suspect information and no other details have been released.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for each homicide committed in the District of Columbia. 

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at 202-727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s Text Tip Line by sending a text message to 50411.
