WASHINGTON — Police in D.C. said a burglary call led to a barricade situation early Thursday morning. Four people were arrested as a result. Police had closed roads in the Navy Yard area near Nationals Park, but officers said the scene cleared just before 8 a.m.
A spokesperson for the police department said officers were called to the 1100 block of First Street Southeast for the report of a burglary around 1 a.m. Once on scene, officers learned that multiple armed people broke into a home, and then barricaded themselves inside.
A barricade was declared by police, prompting road closures for several hours early Thursday. However, roads have reopened by 8 a.m.
DC Police said four people were taken into custody at the scene. Multiple firearms were recovered. The investigation is ongoing. Police have not said what charges those four people are facing.
