2 teens shot, 1 killed near Metro station in Northeast DC

One of the teens was conscious and breathing, and the other was not, according to police.

WASHINGTON — Two teens were shot on Monday afternoon near a Metro station in Northeast D.C.

DC Police responded to the 4700 block of Minnesota Avenue, Northeast – not far from the Deanwood Metro Station.

When officers arrived, they found an "older juvenile male" victim suffering from gunshot wounds. Police say he was conscious and breathing when he was transported to an area hospital.

Another teen was found at the scene. He was unconscious and not breathing, according to police.

Police confirmed to WUSA9 that one of the teens died.

The following road closures are in effect as a result of the police investigation:

  • 4600-4800 Block of Minnesota Avenue, NE between Meade and Quarles Street, NE.
  • 4700 Block of Nash Street, NE between Minnesota Avenue and 48th Street, NE.

Police have not released any further details on this shooting, including exact ages of the teens shot, nor any suspect lookouts or motives behind the shooting.
