Police have confirmed a second arrest in the shooting of a 17-year-old girl who died after being hit by a stray bullet.

Jamahri Sydnor was shot in the head while driving through an intersection in Northeast, D.C. in August. The Woodrow Wilson High School graduate died a few days later in the hospital. She was set to go to Florida A&M University the following week.

Police arrested Philip Carlos McDaniel, 21, in connection to the shooting of Sydnor and another person in August. The other victim was found suffering from a gunshot wound to the buttocks and was transferred to the hospital. McDaniel has been charged with assault with intent to kill.

The name of the second D.C. resident arrested hasn’t been released.
