D.C. Police are actively investigating an August incident that happened at Roosevelt High School in NW Washington involving at least three of the school's football players.
Sources tell WUSA9 that the athletes assaulted a 15-year-old player in the locker room, after ripping off his clothing.
The attack was reported to police two days later.
A source tells WUSA9: “The school is out of control. The administrators are trying to sweep this under the rug.”
D.C. Public Schools released the following statement in response to the incident:
DC Public Schools does not accept such behavior and has placed relevant staff on administrative leave pending investigation and suspended involved students. We are committed to ensuring that our athletic programs are safe for all students.
This is a developing story and will continue to be updated as information becomes available.
