WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- D.C. police are investigating a report that a female student at Sidwell Friends School was raped by a male student on school grounds.

According to police documents, the victim told police she was forced to have sexual intercourse with the male without her consent.

The alleged rape happened at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday and was reported to police just before 11:00 p.m. the same day, the documents say.

According to the documents, the victim and the alleged perpetrator know each other and have had a previous sexual relationship.

According to a Metropolitan Police Department spokesperson, the incident is “being investigated as an allegation of sexual abuse,” but it “has not reached to the level of a crime, right now.”

The documents do not specify where on campus the incident took place.

The highly-selective Wisconsin Avenue NW school is currently attended by both of President Obama's daughters.

In a statement, Associate Head of School Ellis Turner told WUSA9, "It is the longstanding policy of Sidwell Friends School to cooperate fully with any law enforcement investigation. It is also our policy not to comment on such investigations."
