She was taken to a local hospital to be treated for injuries, and is expected to recover.

WASHINGTON — Police are asking for the public's help identifying the person responsible for shooting and injuring a woman in Northeast D.C. on New Year's Day.

Officers with the Metropolitan Police Department responded to H Street Northeast, nearby 13th Street Northeast, around 2 a.m. on Monday after a report of shooting. Upon arrival, they found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound.

She was taken to a local hospital to be treated for injuries, and is expected to recover.

The person accused of shooting the woman was captured on surveillance camera, and police released a video of it on Tuesday asking for the public's help. Here's a look at the video:

Anyone who has any knowledge of this incident should take no action but call police at (202) 727-9099 or text your tip to the Department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411.  The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for a violent crime committed in the District of Columbia.
