WASHINGTON -- A plane traveling from Houston to Boston was forced to divert to Dulles airport after a passenger died on the United flight, a statement from United Airline reads.
United Flight 1888 diverted to the Washington area late Tuesday night due to a medical emergency on board. Our sister station KHOU, based in Houston said passengers on the flight saw "the whole thing unfold."
"We are saddened to learn that our customer passed away. We extend our sincerest condolences to their family," United Airlines said in a statement.
Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority said the rest of the customers were put on another flight around 3:30 a.m. in order to continue onto their final destination of Boston.
