WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Washington Animal Rescue League wants you to meet Poinsettia, a darling, petite, 3-year-old pit bull terrier mix.
When Poinsettia arrived at the Washington Animal Rescue League in December, she had just been rescued from the streets of Baltimore by a partner shelter and was skin and bones. Today, thanks to good food and lots of love, Poinsettia is the picture of health and vitality.
Poinsettia's a happy girl, full of joie de vivre…although her naturally furrowed brow gives her a perpetually concerned look. She greets staff, volunteers, and visitors with an enthusiastic wiggle, and is polite with other dogs. If you sit on the floor with her, she'll climb into your lap for a cuddle and canine kiss.
She is truly a special dog; her only flaw is that she likes small animals a bit too much for comfort...so no home with cats or other little critters for her.
