From the front porch to the Kennedy Center: DC rapper's viral series takes the stage

Noochie's wildly popular concert series is taking over the venue for one night only.

WASHINGTON — A D.C. rapper is getting ready to bring his viral performance series from the front porch of his home to one of the District's most prestigious stages.

Noochie's groundbreaking series, Live From the Front Porch, has become a celebrated showcase of talent from the DMV and across the country. His platform has hosted iconic artists such as GoldLink, Raheem DeVaughn, and Backyard Band, blending hip hop, Go-Go, and R&B in an intimate, outdoor setting.

Now, he's bringing the outdoor energy into the Kennedy Center Concert Hall for a one-night-only special event next year. While the show is not scheduled until April 4, 2025, tickets are already on sale for Kennedy Center members Thursday. They will go on sale to the general public next week.

Noochie started front porch freestyles back in 2017, but it was nothing like the full scale production it’s grown into.

"It was just me and my phone doing like I had a speaker beside me and using the mic and the camera off my phone just recording myself just rapping," he told WUSA9 last year.

His platform has helped go-go — D.C.'s official music — reach an international audience. What started as a way to showcase his own talent, has now turned into a movement.
