No answers one year after unarmed man killed by US Park Police

Supporters held a rally in front of the Lincoln Memorial to demand the name of the officers who shot Ghaisar and justice.

WASHINGTON -- Saturday marked one year since US Park Police killed an unarmed 25-year-old man during a traffic stop in Fairfax County.

Bijan Ghaisar’s family and friends are upset that federal investigators are refusing to release new information about his death.

Supporters held a rally in front of the Lincoln Memorial to demand the name of the officers who shot Ghaisar and justice.

Ghasiar was killed in 2017 after US Park Police tried pulling him over on GW Parkway.

Video from Fairfax County Police showed park police officers following Ghaisar and firing their guns.

Police were chasing Ghaisar after he left an accident scene where he was rear-ended.

The 25-year-old was unarmed and had no drugs in his car.

One year later, the FBI is still investigating, and names of the officers involved have not been released

A bill was introduced in Congress on Friday that would require all uniformed federal police officers to wear body cams and have dash cams in their marked cars.

The goal is to help with transparency, hold the public and officers accountable, and hopefully prevent what the Ghaisar family is going through from happening again.
