WASHINGTON — A new Florida-themed bar is coming to Navy Yard the week of Christmas to satisfy all of your vacation, gator and pool visual needs this season.
The 14,000-square-foot location with a near-1,000-person capacity is the latest project of Mission Group, whose current spots include Mission Dupont, Mission Navy Yard, Hawthorne, The Admiral and Salazar.
The Royal Sands Social Club located in Navy Yard is inspired by the colorful bars and beach clubs of Florida and tropical places beyond, according to the group, offering "an escape for those searching for incredible food and colorful drinks," right in the District.
The venue shows off three different bars -- one of which looks like a sunken pool complete with a lifeguard DJ booth -- plus arcade games, a photo booth, cornhole, multiple private rooms and views of Nationals Park across the street.
Nightlife lovers shouldn't sleep on Royal Sands after dark -- which plans to bring out DJs, VIP zones and bottle service, available in areas across the club.
The bar's first night on the scene is Dec. 22, opening at 4 p.m. and those still hunting for New Year's plans are welcome at the location's first ticketed event on the holiday.
The bar is located at 26 N St. SE, Washington, DC 20003. Learn more about the experience and menu, including conch fritters and gator bao buns to sushi rolls and rum punch, by clicking here.
