ALEXANDRIA, Va. (WUSA9) — There is no doubt some people feel like we live in a turbulent time. A new art gallery opened with an exhibit that gives artists take on national and international politics. It’s called, “Resist and Recover” at the Kyo Gallery.
“The artist is telling you a story and you’re inserting yourself into that story and where you end up is really up to you,” director Jason Longfellow said. “We can only hope to help you on the journey.”
The gallery showcases artists from around the world. The focus covers the current national political climate to what is happening in other countries.
You will see art referencing the Crimea conflict and the Charlottesville riots.
The exhibit has been so popular the gallery has extended the display time. Kyo gallery is open Thursday through Saturday.
