WASHINGTON — Police are asking for the public's help identifying and locating a person they say is connected to the sexual abuse of an underage victim aboard a Red Line train.

According to a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, by the Metro Transit Police Department, the abuse happened on Monday.

Not much is known about the abuse at this time, but police have said it happened aboard a Red Line train. Metro Transit Police shared an image of the wanted suspect that appears to have been captured by surveillance cameras around 10:30 a.m. at the Fort Totten Metro station.

That suspect is now wanted in connection to the misdemeanor sexual abuse of a minor.

Anyone with information about who the suspect is, or where they may be, is asked to contact Metro Transit Police at 1-844-MTPDTIP (687-3847). DC Crime Solvers offers up to $1,000 cash reward for info leading to arrest/indictment of suspect.

This is the second sexual assault reported aboard a Red Line train in less than a week. Mekhi Thomas, 23, was arrested on Nov. 16 after police say he attacked a woman while on a Red Line train near the Silver Spring Metro station. In addition to an attempted rape charge, Thomas faces charges of assault, robbery and several additional charges, police said.
