WASHINGTON — A man has been hospitalized after being assaulted in downtown D.C. early Friday.
Officers with the Metropolitan Police Department responded to 15th Street Northwest, near Madison Drive Northwest, in the area of the National Museum of African American History and Culture after receiving a call for service around 2 a.m. Upon arrival, they found a man suffering from injuries to the head.
The man was taken to a local hospital for treatment, and is said to be in critical condition.
Police say no one is in custody at this time for the crime. The investigation into the assault is active and ongoing.
