WASHINGTON — Police are investigating after a man was found dead following a shooting in Southeast D.C. early Sunday morning.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the shooting happened in the 1100 block of 2nd Place, Southeast just after 3 a.m.
When officers arrived, they found a man dead at the scene.
He was later identified as 44-year-old Michael James Quander, Jr. of Northwest.
Police have not released any information regarding possible suspect description or what may have happened in the moments leading up to the man's death. Investigators are looking into the man's death as a homicide.
